Who is providing this notice? Roots Real Estate Investment Community I, LLC ("Roots").
What we do
How does Roots protect my personal information? To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings, and we encrypt sensitive information such as Social Security numbers and bank-account information.
How does Roots collect my personal information? We collect your personal information, for example, when you:
open an account or buy securities;
give us your income information or contact information; or
provide account or bank information (for example, when you link a bank account).
Some of this personal information is collected through our affiliate, Wealth Building Technologies, LLC d/b/a Roots, which operates the Roots platform. We also collect your personal information from others, such as identity-verification, bank-linking, and fraud-prevention providers.
Why can't I limit all sharing? Federal law gives you the right to limit only:
sharing for affiliates' everyday business purposes — information about your creditworthiness;
affiliates from using your information to market to you; and
sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you.
Roots does not share your personal information in any of these ways, so there is nothing for you to limit.
Definitions
Affiliates — Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies. Roots' affiliates include Wealth Building Technologies, LLC d/b/a Roots.
Nonaffiliates — Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies. Roots does not share your personal information with nonaffiliates so they can market to you.
Joint marketing — A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you. Roots does not engage in joint marketing.
