Meet Sydney & Jacquez

Sydney and Jacquez, a young couple, faced an unexpected and challenging journey when their daughter, born on May 16th, 2023, arrived as a medically complex and disabled child, weighing only 2lb. The difficulties intensified when it became apparent that the life-saving surgery their daughter needed was beyond the capabilities of CHOA. Seeking a second opinion at UCSF in California, the family received the news that would shape their path – a diagnosis of Cornelia de Lange. Sydney and Jaques remain determined to provide the best possible life for their daughter, despite the hardships they face. Free rent for a year would provide essential support, allowing them to focus on their daughter's care and work towards financial stability for their family.
